More pictures

Hello! We've been to more places since our last post.

Below are some pictures of an area in County Clare called "The Burren". We visited it while staying in Lahinch. The landscape is covered with natural limestone pavements. We had a foggy day, which I think made The Burren really fascinating. The pictures don't do it justice. The area is very large...one of the guests at our B&B was a photography student who had spent 8 days at The Burren working on her portfolio!

We headed out of Lahinch to head to Enniscrone...

We found a house for our parents to share in case we ever move to Ireland...notice the For Sale sign.
:-)

These would be your neighbors, parents. 😂

Mid-way between Lahinch and Enniscrone, we stopped in Leenane to take a boat tour of the Killary Fjord. It was a rainy day, but still beautiful.

We arrived at Enniscrone. A tiny, tiny village. Smaller than Ballybunion, I think, but not sure! Bigger than Tres Pinos near home, though!

While staying in Enniscrone, we took a drive to Sligo which was about an hour away. Beautiful scenery....I think this mountain/hill is called Benbulben. Mike was really looking forward to seeing it.

After going through Sligo, we stopped at Parke's Castle on Lough Gill (lough means lake) and took a self-guided tour. It was really neat to go through it.

We ventured back to Enniscrone to eat at this tiny place called Pilot Bar. Mike had read about it in one of his books and was really looking forward to it. They had the best gluten free pizza!

Our B&B in Enniscrone.

Another big hill. I call them Lion King mountains. 😘

We checked out in Enniscrone and drove three plus hours to Portrush. We headed straight to the Giants Causeway. Basalt rock formations of the coast. Really interesting!

That's my "I'm done!" face. I was done for several reasons....first, you can't tell on this trail, but there were TONS of people at the causeway. It was nuts. We had been in teeny villages up until now, so I wasn't used to all the people again. The second reason I was done was because I have a lot of fears...flying...getting really sick...heights...oh, I don't know....mountainsides crumbling down upon me??? And bit by bit I conquer them, no matter how uncomfortable I get...But sometimes my poor scared brain just needs a rest, you know?
